Laura Hudson

Laura has been an animal lover since she was a child, from collecting stray cats to being the kid on the block who walked and trained (or so she thought) the neighbors' dogs.

She has volunteered her time with the Calgary Humane Society, has always been passionate about rescuing, and is a huge advocate for spaying and neutering your pet.

She is a proud mom of two sweet animal lovin kiddos, a daughter who is 16 and a son who is 13.  They enjoy helping when they can and love our pack.  And of course her partner in crime, Derek who keeps her inner animal collecter in check but understands that kitties are better the more you get.

Laura has been walking and handling all kinds of dogs, big and small, purebred and rescue as well as senior and puppy for over 5 years. She has learned to manage and refer dogs who display fearful, social and reactive behaviors and enjoys the reward that comes from being a positive influence in her puppy clients' day and reinforcing new habits and manners.  Early puppy socialization including animal husbandry and working on a plan together to set up clients (both dog and human) for success early in their experience is so exciting to learn and be a part of, and a major subject of interest, she actively pursues.

It is the best feeling to make a positive impact on improving her clients'  communication and relationship with their dog and be able to be a part of teaching them to be a great walking companion and finding a happy balance with learning to live with an animal in your home.

She has learned through seminars and workshops and with positive mentors by continuing to learn and commit to science based education to strengthen her handling skills and always making sure to learn from her clients to adapt and most importantly to set them up in an environment to succeed no matter what uncontrolled variables we encounter.  She is currently working towards attaining her national designation as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) in the next couple years.

She believes that the time she spends with each of yours pets is their experience and the goal is to make them happy!

Laura currently has three rescue cats from Tails to Tell, her big orange guy, Jasper, little Derpy, Oreo and her big black panther, Maggie.  She is currently finding it hard to not continually add to her collection!  She also recently lost her beautiful family friend of 9 years, her Mini Schnauzer named Jynx to complications from diabetes in June.
